deadmau5 Scores With High‑Impact EP, “Error5”
deadmau5 has released a new EP, Error5, a scintillating reminder he’s still finding new corners to express his sound.
The project first appeared in Rocket League prior to today’s release on streaming platforms via his record label, mau5trap, in celebration of the game’s 10th anniversary.
deadmau5 opens Error5 with “Patience,” producing synths tinged with just enough melancholy to color the mood without weighing it down. He then follows with “Sixes,” playing off the eeriness of its predecessor while shifting it to a feeling of tension and focus. Every glitch feels intentional, cutting through the noise with sharp definition.
“8ths” is tight and pulsing, built around syncopated stabs and hi-hat flourishes that recall deadmau5’s influential work with Kaskade on Kx5. The final track, “What a Save” stands apart from the rest of the EP, drawing a bit of nostalgia from his 2012 album >album title goes here
