Buffalo Bills & Bud Light Partner To Create “Blizzard Brew,” Made From Snow That Fell Inside Highmark Stadium
A beer fit for a Bills fan.
When it comes to Buffalo Bills fans, no table goes unbroken, and no pile of snow goes un-shoveled. In case you didn’t know, while the Bills have played in Highmark Stadium, the organization has relied on fans to clear out snow when big flurries hit. The “Bills Mafia” has always taken pride in shoveling snow when called upon, and unfortunately, that tradition will be ending after this season.
The NFL team in Buffalo only has a couple of games left in Highmark Stadium before they move to New Highmark Stadium at the start of the 2026 season. Though that too will be an open-air concept (many thought Buffalo should go with a dome, but they didn’t), the Bills organization has opted to use internal/vendor resources for snow removal starting in 2026.
Sad, right? But on the plus side, that just means Bills fans will have more time to break tables and take ketchup and mustard showers (look it up).
So though the Buffalo snow and the fans won’t be as connected from here on out, the Buffalo Bills still wanted to do something to commemorate Highmark Stadium and all the snow that’s fallen there over the years. How do you give back to the fans that have helped keep the snow out of your NFL stadium for years?
You partner with Bud Light and make beer out of the snow for them to drink, of course:
“Following the first snowfall at Highmark Stadium earlier this season, Bud Light and the Bills joined forces to collect the snow and transport it to Anheuser-Busch’s brewery in Baldwinsville, NY. There, the snow was integrated in the brewing process to create a limited-edition brew that will be included in custom 16 oz. cans and packaging.
The ‘Blizzard Brew’ will be available at participating retailers in the Buffalo area and wherever Bills Mafia enjoys the final regular season home game. Bills legend Andre Reed, who played 15 seasons for the franchise, will join Bud Light and the Bills at Highmark Stadium during the final regular season home game to help commemorate the stadium and Bills Mafia with a ‘Blizzard Brew.'”
Man, the “Blizzard Brew” sounds so damn cool.
Leave it to the Buffalo Bills to think this one up. Fans will have the opportunity to partake in the snow-beer when the the Bills play their final regular season home game at Highmark Stadium, and I’ve got a feeling it’ll be a hard beer to get (I’m also assuming it will be a rather limited quantity).
Todd Allen, the SVP of Marketing for Bud Light at Anheuser-Busch, was thrilled to bring the “Blizzard Brew” to life with the help of the Buffalo Bills organization:
“It’s no secret Bills Mafia is one of the most passionate fanbases in sports, with fans in Buffalo and beyond who will do anything for their team. That dedication is on full display when they show up to Highmark Stadium with shovels in hand, and we couldn’t be more honored to show up for Bills fans by creating a brew that both showcases and celebrates their years of commitment to the team.”
It’s definitely a creative way of saying thanks to the fans, and if you’ve ever seen a Bills Mafia tailgate, snow-beer perfectly encapsulates the spirit of the Bills fanbase.
Bills Chief Commercial Officer Jason Hartlund was also excited to make the announcement of the specialty beer, which is a first of its kind brew:
“Bud Light has been a partner of the Buffalo Bills for nearly twenty-five years, and we’re very excited to continue our partnership with a program that brings Bills Mafia’s passion and Buffalo’s legendary weather together in a never-before-done way. We’re thrilled to officially bring ‘Blizzard Brew’ to life for our fans.”
I’m currently trying to figure out how I could obtain a “Blizzard Brew.”
But all in all, I hope the Bills Mafia is able to enjoy it the most. With all of the snow shoveling they’ve done over the years, they certainly deserve to kick back and sip on beer that’s made with some of the very snow that fell inside Highmark Stadium.
