Arsenal are close to sign Cedric Soares on an initial loan deal worth £5 million

Arsenal are close for a move of Southampton right-back Cedric Soares before the January transfer window closes.

The 28-year-old Cedric Soares, is out of contract at the end of the season and could be available for around £5million if Arsenal fulfill his, wages.

Arsenal and Southampton also discussed a loan deal for Soares, with Arsenal putting together a package of around £5m which will cover a loan fee as well as the 28 year-old's wages for the rest of the season.

Expectation is Arsenal will complete signing of 28yo Portugal full-back Cedric Soares from Southampton within 24hrs. According to the Telegraph, Arsenal are set to pay a loan fee of under £1million for Cedric Soares and then turn his deal into a permanent one in the summer.
