Tennessee Titans Star Jeffery Simmons Is The Latest Pro-Athlete To Be Burglarized While They’re Playing A Road Game

Yet another pro-athlete burglary.
In recent years, there have been a number of professionals across the NFL and NBA have their houses broken into while they are on the road for away games. Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow had his home broken into while he was competing last year in 2024. According to police reports, someone broke into Burrow’s home around 8 PM… right at the same time that the Bengals were taking on the Dallas Cowboys in Texas.
Luckily, a Sports Illustrated swimsuit model was there at the Cincinnati QB’s residence to call the police shortly after the break in occurred (that’s a true story).
But other NFL players haven’t been so lucky as lucky. Early on in the 2024, Kansas City Chiefs stars Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce had their homes broken into, and only found out after they returned home. And most recently, Cleveland Browns rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders was a victim of burglary while he made his NFL debut back in November.
Now, Tennessee Titans star Jeffery Simmons’ name can be added to the list of athletes who have been burglarized while they are away.
The Titans were all the way across the country playing against the San Francisco 49ers when the burglary took place. The NFL team hailing from “Music City” gave the 49ers all they could handle, including this trick play where Jeffery Simmons – a defensive lineman – was put in on offense and scored a touchdown.
It was a really cool moment for the big man:
But sadly, as Simmons was busy catching a touchdown pass out in California, his home in Nashville, Tennessee was being targeted by burglars.
Though it has yet to be confirmed in this case, it’s believed that there’s an organized and skilled criminal group that is carrying out these calculated home invasions. Sources have even reported that the FBI is investigating the pattern of crime as international organized crime. Things become so concerning last season that the NFL sent out a security memo to all of its players, advising them to take precautions such as “not posting in real time on social media, installing security systems and keeping valuables out of plain sight.”
The problem really lies within the fact that it’s very well known when professional athletes are at their jobs, and thus, away from home. Turn on the TV on a Sunday and you are likely to see that plenty of NFL players aren’t at their domicile, and flipping through sports channels on the weekdays can let you know when NBA players are at home or out on the road. These organized crime groups take these planned-out-schedules and game start times into account, and then strike when it’s known that the homeowner is busy.
That’s exactly what happened to Simmons as he was away with his team in Santa Clara. It’s believed that six suspects broke into and entered his home to steal a handful of valuable items. The Metro Nashville Police Department is currently investigating the break in, and the Titans put out out this statement:
“Team security is actively working with Metro Nashville Police Department to recover items stolen from Jeffery Simmons’ house. No residents were home during the burglary.”
Pretty scary situation.
Simmons put out a statement of his own on Instagram, which was directed at the individuals who knew he was away and broke into his Nashville-area house. He posted to his Instagram story early this morning (presumably once the team flight got back to Nashville and he was able to get back) with this strong, frustrated message:
“God is the greatest and I’m His son! Whoever you are, just know He sits high and looks low. You’ll get what you deserve f*****g cowards!”
Let’s hope that those cowards do get what they deserve.
Simmons later shared video of the masked burglars as they broke into the home around 7:30 p.m., about an hour and a half or so after Simmons scored a trickery touchdown against the San Francisco 49ers. It was in this post that he touched on how unsettling it was to think that some of his family members could have been home when the intruders broke in:
“What if any of my family members was in my house? All that materialistic s**t you can have, but this is crazy!”
Now, instead of focusing on football, Jeffery Simmons is having to get his house back in order, and is likely coming up with a security plan to employ from here on out. If there is a transnational crime ring stalking the home of pro-athletes all across the country, they are going to have to start beefing up security… especially when they are playing on the road. The post Tennessee Titans Star Jeffery Simmons Is The Latest Pro-Athlete To Be Burglarized While They’re Playing A Road Game first appeared on Whiskey Riff.
