Billboard-Charting Producer Kato On The Track Launches $15,000 Music Competition on Audius

Atlanta-based producer Kato On The Track is betting big on Audius, launching a $15,000 music contest that’s already halfway through selecting its Sweet 16 finalists.

The Korean-American producer, who’s crafted hits for major artists including Tyga, Joyner Lucas, Snoop Dogg and members of Wu-Tang Clan, is using the blockchain-powered platform to unearth emerging talent. The “Kato’s Hot Takes!” competition requires aspiring artists to upload their tracks exclusively to Audius before submitting links for review during Kato’s weekly livestreams.

Positioning himself as both talent scout and platform evangelist, Kato’s contest mechanics are straightforward: upload to Audius, submit your link and hope he vibes with your track during his broadcast.

“I’ve discovered more talent in the last 7 weeks of the ‘Hot Takes’ tournament than I have in the last decade of my career,” Kato On The Track said in a press release. “Audius have been great partners helping to facilitate the discovery process and giving these indie artists more exposure, which is what this whole thing is about.”

The $15,000 prize pool will be distributed among the selected winners following the completion of the finalist selection and judging process. Kato is set to livestream his selections every Tuesday at 7:30pm ET (4:30pm PT) via his Instagram, Twitch, YouTube and TikTok channels.Entrants can submit their music here.
