Chris Avantgarde Announces Debut Album and New Record Label, Hyperreal

Chris Avantgarde is stepping into a new role as label executive with the announcement of his new imprint, Hyperreal, and debut album of the same name.

It’s a big moment for the enigmatic German DJ and producer, who has been a fixture near the top of various Beatport charts for the last few years. His originals and high-profile collaborations with the likes of Anyma (“Eternity,” “Simuation,” “Atmosphere”), Adam Beyer (“Desolate Lands”) and Kevin de Vries (“Killa”) have cemented him as one of today’s most in-demand producers of house and techno music.

The announcement arrives in the midst of a breakout for Avantgarde, who has commanded stages at Ultra Music Festival, EDC and Tomorrowland and more this summer, drawing massive crowds with his signature blend of dark soundscapes and driving rhythms. With his long-awaited debut album officially on the horizon, he’s now “poised to cement his status as one of dance music’s most forward-thinking and distinctive voices,” according to a press release.

“Energy,” the album’s lead single, offers a glimpse into Avantgarde’s artistic vision. The six-minute track layers propulsive drums with atmospheric textures, delivering a peak-hour anthem.
