College Football Fans Crack Up At Jon Pardi Performing Drinking Songs For BYU Fans At The Big 12 Championship Game

Nothing like a few country music drinkin’ tunes to a crowd full of rowdy, college football-loving… Mormons?
Utah’s Brigham Young University, and its 98% Mormon student population got a little more than they bargained when country music star, Jon Pardi, strolled on stage for the Big 12 Championship game halftime show. The Cougars are battling the Texas Tech Red Raiders for the Big 12 title at the home of the Dallas Cowboys, AT&T Stadium, and unfortunately for the boys in blue, Texas Tech is running away with it.
Pardi certainly took some heat on X for how he sounded (maybe some technical difficulties?), but the objectively hilarious part of the performance was hitting a crowd full Mormons with a run of drinking songs. “Heartache Medication,” “Dirt On My Boots,” “Head Over Boots,” not exactly the most party-hard trifecta in the Pardi repertoire, but definitely not gonna be bumpin’ over in Provo.
A number of folks on social media called out the comical irony:
