Former Sodom Drummer Guido “Atomic Steif” Richter Passes Away

Heavy metal heavy hearts, for sure. Yesterday, Saturday, September 6, we found out that one of Sodom‘s old drummers, Guido “Atomic Steif” Richter, has passed away. The band’s bassist/vocalist Thomas “Angelripper” Such shared how he and the rest of the band were only made aware of it basically when the rest of us found out…:

“Dear Sodomaniacs. As I was informed today, our former drummer ‘Atomic Steif’ passed away at the end of last week. The circumstances of his death are currently unknown. R.I.P., pal…”

Even though Steif was only a member of Sodom from 1993 to 1995, his tenure had a lasting effect. He’s featured on the Sodom albums Get What You Deserve, Masquerade in Blood, and the Aber bitt mit Sahne EP. Steif joined the band as a replacement for Christian “Witchhunter” Dudek, who passed away back in September 2008. He also played with Violent Force, Holy Moses, Living Death, and Assassin.
