Heartsick Embraces Heavy Chugs in New Single “Debt to Pay”

Rising Midwest metalheads Heartsick are back doing what they do — making killer hardcore tunes.

Following their explosive release, “Break the Curse,” Heartsick dropped a new cutting-edge single, “Debt to Pay.” It explores the themes of independent, DIY bands and the challenges they face as they try to break through the endless barriers and gatekeeping. “Debt to Pay” is an ode to perseverance and solidarity with underground projects.

The song is accompanied by a music video filmed in what looks to be a thrashed, abandoned home. The visuals flicker, blur, and utilize disorientating zooms, adding to the chaos of the chugged riffs and hellish screams. From the lyrics to the visuals, “Debt to Pay” is a blast of chaotic uncertainty.

The video was filmed by Wombatfire (Asking Alexandria), and the song was mixed, engineered, and produced by Josh Schroeder (Lorna Shore, Varials). Heartsick frontman Alfonso Civile and Drummer Barak Haring also share feral fry screams and gutturals between them to bring this track to life.
