Kirk Hammett Jams With Robert Trujillo in Tampa for ‘The Collection: Live’ Book Tour

Kirk Hammett, the iconic guitarist of Metallica, has been out on a promo run for his 400-page coffee table book The Collection: Kirk Hammett. The tour so far has been very intimate, with discussions about his music career and his extensive collection of goodies. Last night (Saturday, June 7), the tour hit the Seminole Hard Rock Tampa Event Center in Tampa, Florida, where Hammett and co. were surprised by some familiar sights.

Not only was Hammett reunited with a long lost guitar of his, but he was also joined onstage by Metallica Robert Trujillo for a quick jam. You can catch fan-filmed footage of both events below.

“Kirk Hammett The Collection: Live” (a conversation with Hammett and Mark Agnesi of Gibson) — will stop in Denver, Colorado on later this month on June 28. You can get The Collection: Kirk Hammett, which shares the story behind Hammett’s collection of rare instruments, on the Gibson website or at Gibson Garage locations in three different, limited formats: limited signed and numbered Custom and Deluxe Editions and a Standard hardcover.
