Megadeth Posted 30 Seconds of “Tipping Point”, The First Single Off Their Final Album

Next year, one of the most iconic thrash metal bands of all time will hang it up for good when Megadeth drops their final album and heads out on their farewell world tour. We don’t know anying more about that final album release — other than it’s the end of an era — but earlier today the band posted a 30 second snippet of the lead single “Tipping Point”.

Set to be released on October 3, the sneak peak offers a tiny taste of what fans should expect from the track. To my ears, it sounds significantly slower than most Megadeth tracks you’re used to and it’s got a sort of edge to it that I wasn’t expecting.

This snippet comes roughly a month after Megadeth made their shocking announcement that time was running out for one of the ‘Big Four’. Having been around since the early 80s, they have seen it all when it comes to thrash.

So mark your calendars for October 3 and head back to hear the whole track when it finally drops.
