Rotting Christ to Re-Record ‘AEALO’, New Version of the Title Track Available Now
They may not be doing it for the same reasons, but it seems like Greek black metal outfit Rotting Christ are pulling a Taylor Swift and re-recording some old tunes. This time around, it will be the band’s 11th studio effort, AEALO.
Looking to modernize their old recordings, Rotting Christ said they’re employing all the major modern methods to make sure these old records sound like they were first written and performed in 2025. Every part of the album will be redone, cinluding the new cover art and other aspects that made the album what it is today.
Rotting Christ vocalist Sakis Tolis said the plan to redo AEALO didn’t necessarily mean that the band hated the original recording.
“Dear friends. We have re-recorded, remixed and remastered our 11th album AEALO with deep respect for the original recording. We are proud to present to you the first sample from the album with a new video for its title track.”
The re-recorded version of AEALO comes out January 23, 2026 on Season of Mist, but you can preorder and pre-save your copy today.
