Simon Jordan reveals he suggested Oliver Glasner to Premier League chairman this summer
Oliver Glasner could have been in charge of a different Premier League side this season.
That is after Simon Jordan suggested the Crystal Palace manager to former Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy in the summer.

Spurs had been on the lookout for a new boss after Ange Postecoglou was sacked at the end of last term.
However, Levy ultimately opted to appoint Brentford’s Thomas Frank as the Australian’s successor.
Despite not heading to north London, Glasner may not be at Selhurst Park for much longer, according to Jordan.
The ex-Palace owner has hailed the job the Austrian is currently doing at his old side.
After taking over in February 2024, Glasner won the FA Cup last season to deliver the club’s first major trophy.
He has since added the Community Shield as well as making an unbeaten start to this season.
Those successes come despite losing Eberechi Eze to Arsenal in the summer, whilst Michael Olise was sold to Bayern Munich a year earlier.
Meanwhile, the transfer window was also dominated by speculation surrounding Marc Guehi’s future prior to his move to Liverpool falling through on deadline day.
Jordan on Glasner and Palace
Jordan discussed Glasner’s achievements on White and Jordan, explaining: “I like Glasner. With all due respect to the departed, I actually said to Daniel (Levy) about him during the summer, ‘Why not Glasner?’
“He had his own views on it, but I think he’s a top, top manager.

“Do I think he’ll be Palace manager at the end of the season? I’ll be amazed because he’s got nothing left on his contract now. This is his last year.
“He hasn’t been given the support yet. He’s working the oracle. They’re taking their best players out, repeatedly taking their best players out.
“Fortunately for Palace, which is the great thing they’re not taking them out, these clubs are having to pay for them now. That’s the good thing about it.
“Eze’s gone and for top money, Olise went for decent money and people are having to pay for it. And Guehi, he didn’t walk out the door. But again, they’re operating at their highest level.
“It’s like Nottingham Forest last year. Their run of form, as a unit, as a team is fabulous.
“Look at the teams that they’re beating, look at the results that they’re getting and they’ve got a European competition.

“So, we’ll see how that plays out with the strength of their squad.”
Palace’s dramatic late win over Liverpool on Saturday saw them move up to third in the table having yet to lose in their opening six matches.
Those results have helped extend their run of fixtures without defeat in all competitions to 18 since losing to Newcastle in April.
Meanwhile, their FA Cup triumph secured the club’s first season of European competition this term.
Having been demoted to the Conference League, Palace will begin their league phase campaign on Thursday.
Glasner takes his side to Lublin, Poland to face Ukrainian champions Dynamo Kyiv.
