Kinda weird that she had her own menu item in the first place…

The whole situation surrounding now-former University of Michigan head football coach Sherrone Moore has been one of the more bizarre stories to come out of college football this year, after the university announced last Wednesday that Moore had been terminated.

According to a statement from Michigan athletic director Warde Manuel, Moore was fired for cause after allegedly having an inappropriate relationship with a female staffer for the Wolverines football team:

“Sherrone Moore has been terminated, with cause, effective immediately. Following a university investigation, credible evidence was found that Coach Moore engaged in an inappropriate relationship with a staff member. This conduct constitutes a clear violation of University policy, and UM maintains zero tolerance for such behavior.”

Moore has been married to his wife, Kelli, for a decade, and the couple have three children together.

Unfortunately though, some disturbing news came out of Michigan after it was announced that Moore had been fired, when it was reported that the former coach was detained by police in Saline, Michigan and turned over to the Pittsfield Township Police Department “for investigation into potential charges.”

Dispatch audio obtained by TMZ from the arrest showed officers were dispatched for a “domestic” assault, with the caller (presumably the employee with whom Moore was having a relationship) reporting that the coach was “attacking her” and stating that he had been “stalking her for months.”

Moore’s wife had also called police, reporting that he was suicidal due to losing his job.

And last Friday, Moore appeared in court for the first time to be formally arraigned on three charges, including felony home invasion in the third degree, misdemeanor stalking and misdemeanor breaking and entering.

During the hearing, prosecutors describe what they say led up to the charges against Moore, after he was fired and allegedly went to his mistress’ apartment:

“At some point soon thereafter came to her apartment… barged his way into that apartment, immediately then proceeded to a kitchen drawer, grabbed several butter knives and a pair of kitchen scissors, and began to threaten his own life. ‘I’m going to kill myself, I’m going to make you watch, my blood is on your hands, you ruined my life,’ and a series of very, very threatening, intimidating, terrifying statements and behaviors.”

The mistress hasn’t been officially identified, though it’s largely been reported to be his assistant Paige Shiver. Shortly after the news began to break, Shiver deactivated her social media accounts, and online sleuths found that she had received a 55% raise in 2025. The 911 call was also made from an address linked to Shiver.

Well apparently the whole saga has not only caused turmoil in the Michigan football program, but has also forced one Ann Arbor restaurant to revamp their menu.

Last week, customers at the Brown Jug, a staple in the college town, began sharing photos of the menu that not only included items named after the now-former coach, but also after his alleged mistress.

While the menu contains items named after plenty of Michigan players and alums, it seemed a little odd that there was a cauliflower pizza named after a low-level staffer for the football program…

Unsurprisingly, the restaurant acted quickly to remove both Moore and Shiver from their menu, renaming the Sherrone Moore Sampler Basket (which includes jalapeno poppers, cheese sticks, onion rings and chicken tenders) after former Michigan quarterback Devin Gardner, while Paige Shiver’s Cauliflower Gluten-Free pizza was originally renamed after former Michigan cornerback Will Johnson, though it now appears to have been removed altogether. (As it should be. Cauliflower crust is a crime against pizza).

Like I said, I’m not sure Shiver really needed a menu item named after her, but it’s also not uncommon for restaurants around college campuses to name menu items after football players or notable people at the school.

Probably wish they had done a little more research before naming that pizza though…The post Michigan Restaurant Renames Menu Item That Was Named After Former Coach Sherrone Moore’s (Alleged) Mistress first appeared on Whiskey Riff.
